STILLWATER – Before Oklahoma State takes the field at Boone Pickens Stadium for the final time this season, the senior class will be honored for their dedication and commitment to the program.
"It'll mean the world," senior running back LD Brown said. "I've been here five years and this could possibly be my last game at BPS. That's a big deal to say I stuck it out. I prevailed and now I'm playing my last one, so it'll be fun."
The Cowboys suffered their second loss of the season in Bedlam, but are putting that behind them and focusing on finishing the season strong.
"You can't mope on the past," linebacker Devin Harper said. "We have to bounce back, come back harder, work harder and know what mistakes you made in that game and correct them so they don't happen again in the future."
The seniors are looking forward to playing what could be their final game at home in an OSU uniform. While they will have the option to return for another year due to the coronavirus pandemic, many of the seniors are yet to decide on their futures and want to go out in style in front of the Cowboy faithful.
"It's a great opportunity for us to go out there and play our last game as the 2016 class," Harper said. "To showcase what we have been working on for the past four years and go out with a bang."
The class of 2016 has contributed to 40 wins so far at Oklahoma State, but when they are recognized before Saturday's game, it will mean more to those seniors than wins and losses.
"We've been through everything together and we're loyal and true," Brown said. "That's one thing we abide by our fans and us as well. We stuck it out and to say we started something and finished and graduated is a big accomplishment that not many guys can say. I'm really glad that me and the rest of the guys I came in with can have this special day Saturday."
