BATTLE CREEK, MI — The Battle Creek Police Department wants residents near the city’s wastewater treatment plant to not be alarmed if they hear an abundance of gunfire late Tuesday or Thursday night.
Officers, according to a news release from the city, will participate in routine, annual firearms training April 28 and 30 at the city’s shooting range near the treatment facility on West River Road.
The training will take place from 10:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. both nights.
“This is not a typical schedule for firearms training, but is necessary due to schedule restraints related to COVID-19,” the release states. “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to neighbors nearby.”
