Saturday will be one last summery day with high temperatures from the upper 60s in the north to the upper 70s in the south. A few spots near Iowa might touch 80. The Twin Cities should warm to about 76 with a light southeast breeze.
Scattered showers will grow across northern Minnesota as Saturday progresses but severe weather is not likely there.
Severe possibilities
Of some concern is the likelihood that strong thunderstorms will develop just east of the Twin Cities late Saturday afternoon. These thunderstorms will grow rapidly and some are likely to become severe as they track northeastward across northern Wisconsin through the evening.

Cooldown begins on Sunday
Cooler Canadian will begin to arrive on Sunday. Expect highs from the upper 50s in the north to the upper 60s farther south. Those temperatures will be about normal for this time of September. But it will feel much cooler thanks to a gusty breeze.
Also look for a scattering of showers on Sunday.
The cooldown will continue for much of the upcoming week with periods of scattered showers and gusty winds.
