UPDATE: The missing child was found safe at about 5:50 p.m. Sunday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office
BRANDON — Detectives are asking for the public’s help to find a one-year-old child who has been missing for more than five days.
Damian Tavares was last seen at his Brandon home near the intersection of Columbus Drive and Williams Road at about 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. He left with one of his guardians in a 2016 Gray Nissan Altima. The car’s Florida license plate is JWDH80.
Damian’s height is 28 inches and his weight is 20-30 pounds.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is not aware of any threats made against the child, but detectives haven’t been able to locate Damian and the guardian to check the child’s well-being, the agency said.
“Our detectives need to make sure that he is being taken care of and is in good health,” said Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister.
Anyone with information on Damian’s whereabouts is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.
