Work at Last Chance Grade is going to be done in four-hour chunks of time during weekdays starting today, Caltrans said in a social media post.

The area is just south of Crescent City in Del Norte County.

Monday through Thursday, Highway 101 at Last Chance Grade will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon and 3 to 7 p.m. On Fridays, the precarious portion of the highway will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon.

“All other times anticipate up to 30-minute delays,” the agency said.
