Steph Curry Has 72 3-Pointers In His Last 10 Games And Is Rewriting The NBA Record Book - Forbes

When Steph Curry exited the Golden State Warriors’ 107-96 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday with 49 points including 11 3-pointers, one of his teammates waved a towel in his direction in a mock gesture to cool him off.

But Curry is so hot, nothing seems to work.

Curry is literally rewriting the NBA record book with each game. He has scored 30 or more points in 11 straight games, the most ever for a player 33 or older. In his last ten games, he has accounted for 35% of his team’s points—tying him with Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant for the best such stretch for a player 33 or older, according to ESPN. He has taken over the NBA scoring lead at 31.4 points per game, passing Washington’s Bradley Beal’s 31.1.

“Being aggressive obviously, but kind of letting the game come to you,” Curry told reporters. “And for me that looks a certain type of way, but I’m having a blast out there just playing basketball.”

If there was any doubt that Curry is the best shooter in the history of the game, consider these numbers:

—He now has eight games this season of 40+ points. The next closest player has five.

—He has 72 threes in his last 10 games, the most during such a span in NBA history.

—He has 54 in his last six games, also the most during that span.

—He has 6 games with 10+ threes this season. No other player has more than 5 in their career (Klay Thompson).

—For his career, he has 21 games of 10+ threes. The next closest player is Thompson with five.

The Warriors have won five of six games and are the No. 9 seed in the West — thanks largely to what Curry is doing.

“I’ve seen Kobe Bryant early in his career had a stretch where he went nuts,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “Obviously Michael Jordan had some stretches where he just scored liked crazy. But nobody’s ever shot the ball like this in the history of the game.”
