CLEVELAND, Ohio – You only have hours remaining to register to vote in Ohio ahead of the Nov. 3 presidential election, and the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections reported a “steady stream” of people seeking to register before noon on Monday.

Boards of elections in Ohio close at 9 p.m. If you are in line at closing time, you will be able to register, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office, which oversees elections in the state.

Cuyahoga County election officials expect a “last minute rush” on Monday due to high voter interest in this year’s election, according to board spokesman Mike West.

The Cuyahoga County board has noticed an equal split this year of online registrations versus paper registrations, West said.

Currently, about 882,000 Cuyahoga County voters are registered, West said.

In about two weeks, the board expects to know exactly how many of those individuals are indeed eligible to vote on Nov. 3, West said.

Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer has also contacted the Summit County Board of Elections for a report on the last day of registration. This story will be updated if and when Summit County officials respond.

You can register online or in-person at your county’s board of elections. More information about registration can be found here: Want to ensure you are properly registered to vote in Ohio? Here’s how: Election Truth
