SPRINGFIELD (HOI) — State public health officials are reporting 4,449 new COVID-19 cases and an additional 62 deaths related to the virus in the last week.
Friday’s report by the Illinois Department of Public Health brings the statewide total number of reported cases to 1,399,946 and the death toll to 23,357.
The statewide rolling positivity rate has increased to 2.3%, from 1.7% that was being reported on July 9.
As of Thursday night, 476 individuals in Illinois were reportedly in the hospital with COVID-19, with 94 of those in the ICU and 28 were on ventilators.
The state is also reporting 73% of Illinois adults have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 57% are fully vaccinated.
Since July 9, an additional 148,520 doses were administered, bringing Illinois’ total to 12,917,362.
