Single-lane closures on parts of Fern Hollow Road and Blackburn Road in Sewickley Heights Borough will begin at 9 a.m. on May 12. According to Allegheny County Department of Public Works, the restrictions, which are expected to end in July, are required for safety upgrades, scour protection and concrete repairs to Little Sewickley Creek Bridge No. 5; inlet construction; paving and guide rail installation.
The closures are as follows:
• While work on Little Sewickley Creek Bridge No. 5 is taking place, there will be a single-lane closure on Fern Hollow Road just north of Blackburn Road. Traffic will be controlled using stop signs.
• During the guide rail installation, there will be a single-lane closure near the intersection of Fern Hollow Road and Blackburn Road. That will include about 230 feet of Fern Hollow Road and 500 feet of Blackburn Road. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers.
The project is being done by Pugliano Construction of Pittsburgh as part of the $612,000 2018 Capital Bridges contract.
