MJ and 'The Last Dance' help dethrone 'Tiger King' - NBCSports.com

Anything you can do Michael Jordan can do better, now including documentaries.

The GOAT picked up yet another big win as a report from Lucas Shaw of Bloomberg stated that the Jordan-focused docuseries 'The Last Dance' passed the oft-discussed 'Tiger King' as 'the most in-demand documentary in the world.' According to research firm Parrot Analytics, The Last Dance was one of the 20 most in-demand shows in the world.

Steve Langdon, the director of partnerships at Parrot, said that the company has been "tracking a rise in demand for sports documentaries during the coronavirus pandemic," and have seen a big boost for sports documentaries during this period, as they are being searched for as much as popular TV sitcoms. The docuseries reportedly peaked at No. 11 in the US this week and is already without a doubt, ESPN's most popular documentary of all-time.

The Last Dance is currently being broadcast on ESPN in the US and outside of the US, it can be watched on Netflix the day after episodes air. The full docuseries will be available on Netflix in the US during the summer.

According to reporting from Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA's Board of Governors are in deep discussions to push back the start of the 2020-21 season until December.

The league is still working hard towards finding a way to resume the 2019-20 season, which was postponed after the first NBA player tested positive for Covid-19.

Current discussions have hinted at a possible December-to-July or August timeline for the 2021 NBA season. As discussed earlier this week, there are many hurdles to any league operations resuming, with everything from the regular season to the draft lottery up in the air status-wise. It is estimated that for the 2019-20 season to resume, 'at least 15,000 [Covid-19] tests' would be needed.

There is no official word on the status of the 2019-20 season at this time but according to Wojnarowski, league officials are cautiously optimistic that the season can be picked back up at some point in the future.
