Ivan Fedorov, the mayor of Melitopol, reported that on 8 September, three explosions rang out in the city; it appeared that Resistance forces had attacked local collaborators. At the same time, the City Council stripped 7 treasonous councillors of their mandates and asked its Executive Committee to seize their property.

Quote from Fedorov: "Today (8 September - ed.) explosions rang out at three addresses where traitors live. One [of them] is Yurii Onyshchuk, the fake director of the water supply company. He almost lost his house. But he doesn't need a home, because he is not welcome in Melitopol. The second [collaborator] is a member of the local housing committee [an elected self-governing body], who betrayed her principles and the people who elected her, and was assisting in the planning of a fake ‘referendum’; she was also offered ‘congratulations’ [euphemism for setting off an explosion] by our Resistance forces and no longer wants to participate in the ‘referendum’. And the third person was also one of the organisers of the ‘referendum’ at the headquarters where the organisation of the fake ‘referendum’ is being planned."
Details: Fedorov added that as a result of these explosions, collaborators who previously wanted to cooperate with the Russian forces are now contacting the Ukrainian authorities and the security forces themselves and "are ready to tell them everything, ready to work for the Ukrainian authorities again so that they will be left alone".
The mayor also announced that Melitopol City Council, at an extraordinary meeting on 8 September, withdrew the mandates of seven treasonous councillors who are currently serving the Russian forces. He noted that only 7 out of the 42 councillors turned out to be traitors.
The City Council also instructed its Executive Committee to apply to the central authorities to freeze and seize all the assets of collaborators and traitors - apartments, summer cottages, plots of land, cars - so that they will not be able to use them when the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberate Melitopol.
According to Fedorov, criminal proceedings have already been initiated against a number of traitors, and some others have been notified that they are under suspicion. He added that, in total, more than 200 reports about collaborators’ activity have been sent to law enforcement agencies, and an investigation is underway.
