30 mins agoThere is an "extremely small" chance that there won't be an NFL season in 2020, according to sources with direct knowledge of both the league's deliberations and the current and expected medical and scientific developments in the coming weeks and months. The biggest potential impediment to playing football later this year will be the availability of adequate and efficient testing for football personnel and the general public. It's expected that by August, testing will be prevalent and simple. It's also believed that stadiums will be open to fans, with a strong preference for open stadiums from Week 1. This doesn't mean that training camps will start on time in late July/early August, however, or that the regular season will start on Sept. 10. For a national fan base seriously craving live sports, this is great news amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
