MANILA - A 5.0-magnitude earthquake jolted Catanduanes province early Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tectonic tremor occurred at 04:08 a.m., some 73 kilometers north of Pandan town. It had a depth of 3 kilometers.
Intensity II was felt at Paracale, Camarines Norte and Bula, Camarines Sur.
Instrumental intensity II was recorded in Iriga City and Pili at Camarines Sur and Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte. Instrumental intensity I was felt at Mauban, Quezon.
Phivolcs said the quake would not cause damage, but would generate aftershocks.
