Changes occurring in Molalla due to COVID-19 - Pamplin Media Group

Change in city council format, to virtual platform, for March 25 meeting is an example

The COVID-19 virus is actively changing meetings. For example, Molalla's March 25 council meeting won't be open to the public. The meeting will go virtual, allowing no more than staff and council members to gather and a call-in number for those wanting to participate.

City Hall has closed temporarily. All non-essential meetings, programs and events have been postponed or canceled in effort to encouraging social distancing. Coffee with the Mayor has been canceled indefinitely.

There will be no Planning Commission meeting on April 1. Those who have scheduled a public meeting at the library will be contacted about rescheduling.

The Cultural and Arts CPC meeting scheduled for March 28 has been canceled. The Wastewater Compliance meeting has been postponed from April 1 to June 3 and the Columbia Hemp Trading Company hearing is postponed until further notice.

Customer service during this time is best served by phone. Staff can assist the public by phone at 503-829-6855.

Many of these services, including permits, licenses and other city business can be completed by phone. To contact Utility billing or the Court, go online to www.xpressbillpay.com or call 800-720-6847. You can mail payments to PO Box 248, Molalla, OR 97038 or drop it in the drop box located in front of City Hall. For court citations, add the citation number when using xpressbillpay.

As the Pioneer reported last week, the Molalla Public Library is closed through the end of March, but that could be extended if public health directions lead to a longer closure. The library extended due dates to April 30 and all hold pick-up dates are suspended until a week after reopening. Library staff asks that users keep library materials until the due date, or the library reopens.

People who don't yet have a card, can sign up for a new library e-card to get e-books and e-audio books for everyone in the family. Registration is easy, go to lincc.org and get instant access to the library's online content.

The LINCC mobile app is free to download for browsing collections, accessing your account, placing holds, checking out e-books and e-audio books and renew items. Library staff members still offer phone services from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 503-829-2593.

City park usage permits are all canceled/suspended because Gov. Kate Brown has issued a stay-at-home order and prohibited social gatherings.

All park restrooms are closed until further notice. Updates to this policy will be provided as new information becomes available.

Traffic Safety classes have been canceled through June. You should contact the court for further direction if you've signed up for these classes. Court staff will attempt to reach out to those already enrolled with more information. If you don't hear from the court, please contact it at 503-829-7711 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
